Although you are allowed to mirror the iPhone iPad or iPod screen to Apple TV by default, it’s difficult to send the content on iOS devices to computers, especially Windows PC. One of the software that can solve your problems is 5KPlayer, a video player and at the same time, a media streamer with AirPlay and DLNA supported.
Available on both Windows (XP and above) and macOS (x10.8 and later), 5KPlayer incorporates AirPlay technology and acts as a receiver for viewing content from iPhone/iPad/iPod on Window & Mac computer without interruption.
This allows you to take advantage of a larger display and more powerful speakers to play videos, games, music, and display documents, presentations or other files.
Optionally, you can also record audio and video during mirroring. These features are very useful in a variety of scenarios including entertainment and education – just think of the convenience of projecting content from your smartphone onto a PC screen to make it visible to multiple people at once.
When you want to project the entire screen of an iPhone or iPad on a Windows or Mac PC, you can do it seamlessly with 5KPlayer. Despite the CPU effort required during wireless mirroring, the software is able to stabilize the projection.
Simply connect both devices to the same WIFI network and install 5KPlayer on the receiving device. Start 5KPlayer on your computer, click on the “DLNA AirPlay” icon on the main interface, and then on “ON”. Access the Control Center of your iOS device and click on Screen Mirroring to connect it to your PC.
Mirroring is set by default when you activate AirPlay (iOS 10 and above) and – if you choose to play the video on your iPhone during mirroring – will switch to AirPlay streaming mode.
Also, if your iPhone iPad can locate the device on which 5KPlayer is installed from your smartphone but have problems with connection, you will need to change your firewall settings.
After that, you will be able to connect your iPhone and your PC via 5KPlayer. If you want to record the screen of your iPhone or iPad during AirPlay screen mirroring to your computer, just click on the red circle that will appear as soon as the devices are connected to each other.
Once finished, click the icon again and the recorded video will be saved in the AirRecord playlist in the 5KPlayer Library. When you want to stop mirroring, simply go to the Control Center of your iOS device and select “Stop Mirroring”.
To download and install 5KPlayer, click on the “Free Download” icon corresponding to your operating system (Windows or Mac). Once the installation file is complete, you will have to accept the license agreement and click on Install.
The procedure will be completed in a few seconds and the first time you startup, you will have to decide whether to register in order to have the possibility to download online content.
