Snapchat recently released a new feature known as geofilters that enable you to share your physical location without necessarily giving away your exact position. This new element unlocks other filters which are based on your location along with the existing Snapchat filters.
For the meantime, Snapchat geofilters is available to a select few locations in Los Angeles as well as in New York. But users are eager to see what Snapchat will come up with in the future regarding geofilters and its availability in various locations across the world.
So, how can one use the Snapchat geofilters? Using this feature is pretty straightforward. If, for instance, you take a snapshot with your mobile device or smartphone, swipe the screen from the right to the left. If there is the existence of a Snapchat geofilter in your present location, the feature will partly cover the photo. Once that happens, hit ‘Send.’
Using the Snapchat geofilter feature requires that you activate the location service on your mobile device or smartphone. If you are an iOS user, go to the ‘Settings’ on your device, then locate ‘Privacy’ and then ‘Location Services.’ Then, turn it on. When you have done this, you will come across all the applications that use the same location. If the location service on Snapchat is not switched on by default, then turn it on. The location services for Snapchat has promised not to keep or reveal the data about your location to anyone, so you have nothing to worry about.
